Services

  • I offer individual therapy for adults across the lifespan. Please take a look at the How I Work page or at the specialties listed below to get a sense of whether we may be a good fit.

  • Relationships are shaped by patterns, needs and desires that can be difficult to see clearly from inside the dynamic. In couples therapy, we work together to bring those patterns into focus, explore what you each want and need from your relationship, and then reinforce existing patterns or build new ones that better serve your needs. As with individual therapy, no two couples are exactly the same. I draw on a variety of therapeutic modalities for couples therapy, including narrative therapy and emotion focused therapy.

Specialties

  • Trauma work looks different for everyone. The most important element is building a strong foundation of safety and trust. From there, based on your needs and goals, I draw on a variety of approaches to treating trauma including, EMDR, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and attachment theory to name a few. Trauma processing helps your mind, body, and emotions find a state of safety and security. Your experience and what you want from this process will guide the work.

  • Questions of identity and life transitions can touch nearly every part of your life. I am particularly interested in how we build our sense of who we are and what we want, which is never a static process. This work may be right for you if you are wrestling with questions about who you are, career choices, what kind of life you want to build and with whom, whether or not you want kids, and what you want out of your partnerships, friendships, and family relationships.

  • Depression can disconnect us from ourselves, from our wants and needs, and leave us feeling isolated and stuck. We may struggle with intense feelings of shame, hopelessness, and worthlessness, and may seek relief in ways that are both helpful and unhelpful. I aim to meet my clients where they are at in this struggle, grapple with the emotional weight of depression, process through those difficult feelings, and work toward reconnecting with what gives your life meaning and joy.

  • Anxiety can come in many shapes and sizes. Sometimes it latches on to specific events, topics, or experiences. Other times it shows up as a more diffuse sense of worry or dread. While life always comes with some degree of worry and anxiety, at times those feelings stick around longer or get bigger and more overwhelming than we know how to manage. When that happens, we can work together to understand your anxiety, where it comes from and how it impacts you. Through this process we can identify the patterns that keep it cranked up high and work toward turning its volume down so that you can participate actively in your life with more ease and less overwhelm.
